I am looking for a Deckhand position onboard a Motor or Sailing yacht, but am open to Deck/Stew as long as the balance is equal, or leaning more on Deck. My experience on deck currently lies with daywork on vessels ranging between 40-90m, where I have gained competent knowledge and skills of the basic deckhand duties such as teak maintenance, detailing, polishing and complete washdowns, including hull. Having done my training with Flying Fish in the UK, I have obtained my PDSD, Powerboat Level 2, PWC certifications, alongside extras which may prove useful to my role on deck, such as VHF and Diesel Engine. As an outgoing, active people person, with experience in professional roles working within teams and 10+ years of hockey playing, I am well versed in the importance of teamwork and communication. Luckily, these traits are two of my strongest possessed, and have found myself working effectively in these situations to create successful and above standard outcomes. I am open-minded and committed to self-development, so whether it’s tearing up a new slope or (attempting to) learn a local language, I actively seek opportunities to take myself out of my comfort zone. I pride myself in the energy and can-do attitude I bring to my work, and always endeavor to complete every job to the highest possible standard. My skills of situational awareness, adaptability and proactiveness, developed through my life experiences thus far, alongside my outgoing and adventurous personality, I believe will make me an asset to crew, and I look forward to beginning my career on deck.
